Leave it to Wally to give an entirely new meaning to the surfer’s term, “Toes On the Nose!”
This board was ready for the glass shop when I laid it on the couch to get a cover from the garage. Upon my return, I see my wife’s dog had scratched the heck out of the wood when he tried to jump on the couch. Luckily, all of the scratches sanded-out and the board looks great.
Handcrafted with several hundred individual segments of wood using the “strip-build” technique, this surfboard is made primarily from paulownia, redwood, poplar, and teak. The artwork on the deck depicts an ocean scene with a setting moon and a single wave.
A classic “Gun” shape, it measures 8′ 10″ x 22″ x 2-7/8″
